Police Safety Tip of the Month:
Just a quick reminder, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. With that in mind if you should receive a phone call from an organization, group or person telling you that you have just won $10,000.00 dollars from that sweepstakes you entered way back when and if you just send in a few hundred dollars they can send you your money or prize. DON'T DO IT!! You should never have to pay for something that you've won to receive that gift or winnings. Don't be fooled by scam artists that will try to get you to send in money or give them any kind of account information. If you should receive a call like this please report it to your local police.
Sellers Beware, for those of you that decide to take advantage of the internet to sell unwanted items, please be cautious of buyers who offer to purchase an item for more than the listed price. The scam is this; the buyer will offer to pay a greater price than what the seller (you) listed it for. Then the buyer (scam artist) will ask you to send the amount he (the buyer) over paid to a third party to cover the shipping and handling charges. The seller (you) then deposit the buyers check and send the extra money to the third party. A few days later the bank informs you that the check you cashed has bounced, NSF or comes back account closed and the seller (you) are then responsible for the banks loss. Again, if it sounds too good tobe true it probably is.

Traffic Statute of the Month:
Remember it’s the Law
Effective on June 1st 2010 / 2009 WISCONSIN ACT 367 the Wisconsin legislature published laws that allow ATV's to be operated on roadways for the purpose of snow removal if they have a snow removal devise attaached. See the full law at:
http://www.legis.state.wi.us/2009/data/acts/09act367.pdf
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT IT'S YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP YOURSELF INFORMED ON MATTERS OF THE LAW. READ 2009 WISCONSIN ACT 367 AND REVIEW THE DNR NEW ATV-SNOW REMOVAL LAWS. ALSO REMEMBER TO CHECK WITH YOUR CITY, VILLAGE OR TOWNSHIP TO SEE IF THEY HAVE AN ORDINANCE THAT WOULD PROHIBIT ITS USE.
